LGBTIQ Employees at Boehringer Ingelheim
The people culture at Boehringer Ingelheim is built on respect, equal opportunities and life balance. The diversity of our entire workforce enriches the company and significantly boosts its innovation capacity. Employees of different sexual orientations and gender identities are welcome in our company.

The abbreviation LGBTIQ stands for “lesbian, gay, bi, trans, inter, queer”, and refers to those whose sexual orientation or gender
identity differs from the supposed norm. According to some estimates, up to ten percent of the population are LGBTIQ – that would mean up to 5,000 employees of Boehringer Ingelheim worldwide.
The acknowledgement of diversity and acceptance of LGBTIQs is still not a matter of course, and change takes time. Boehringer Ingelheim is making its own commitment to establishing a culture where diversity is valued, be it gender, cultural background, age, physical characteristics, or sexual orientation and gender identity. Nurturing an inclusive environment not only creates a respectful environment for our employees, but also promotes the innovativeness and growth of our company.

The Boehringer Ingelheim Rainbow Network is an active contact and cooperation partner for employee and customer-focused communication on LGBTIQ issues. The Employee Resource Group is open to all Boehringer Ingelheim employees – whether they are lesbian, gay, bi, trans, inter or queer themselves, or want to get involved as friends, family or supporters. It offers a safe space for exchanging experiences and ideas. If so requested, anonymity is respected as a matter of course.
